Sunway's policies focus on environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and economic viability. This includes internal carbon pricing, green lease initiatives, sustainable financing, and community development through education and upliftment programs.
Carbon Pricing Framework
Sunway introduced an internal carbon pricing mechanism to incentivize clean energy adoption and reduce carbon emissions within each business division. By doing so, they proactively tackle their respective carbon footprint and drive the transition to cleaner energy sources, contributing to a more sustainable future.
Green Lease Partnership Programme
Sunway REIT introduced and enforced a Green Lease Partnership Programme to encourage tenants and hotel lessees to adopt energy‐efficient practices and responsible waste management. This program goes beyond typical lease agreements, demonstrating Sunway’s commitment to promoting sustainability among its tenants.
Sustainable Financing
Sunway's partnership with several banks to provide homebuyers sustainable mortgage financing packages for green‐certified projects is a special effort that encourages environmentally conscious choices by homebuyers and promotes green building practices
Community Enrichment and Education
Sunway's engagement with communities through educational programs, scholarships, and various community upliftment initiatives demonstrates a commitment to social and human development alongside environmental conservation. The Jeffrey Cheah Foundation's non‐profit contributions to scholarships further highlight their dedication to investing in education
